New Hobby

Due to an offhand comment made by one of my nieces, I have now gotten into making aprons. The picture to the left is one I made last week for my husband's brother. I make two aprons, one a print for the front and another of a solid or contrasting print for the back (lining), and sew them together. I also make a pocket from the lining material and put in on the front. Since this particular apron was for a man, I didn't put grosgrain ribbon and buttons on the bib area.

I've been lucky enough to sell several of my aprons and have them for sale in a small gift shop not far from where I live. At the present time, I've got about fifteen more already cut out and ready to make. :-)

Habit-forming hobbies...

I'm beginning to think I'm getting addicted to some of the sewing hobbies I'm into. A few months ago I started learning how to make quilts; now it's oven mitts. :-) My collection of comic books and books from the public library are stacking up, unread, as I am constantly sitting at the sewing machine or looking up patterns, materials, and other sewing ideas on the computer. BUT, I must say that I have a lot fewer (if any) over the crafts than I do with the reading material. Oh well, I'm happy!
